SAR001: abiquiu - what to let go ($9)

'what to let go' is loose record full of free form guitar noise, flute, keyboard, and percussion. culled together from 3 recording sessions, the compositions included on 'what to let go' were completely improvised and recorded live, save 'goodbye,' the record's sole vocal track. half way between creepy and calming, 'what to let go' is an expansive follow up to 'coyote consciousness,' abiquiu's debut record (soon to be released and remastered by salty attic). howling and teetering on implosion, 'what to let go' is the sound of the universe expanding and contracting. A cdr in an edition of 50, 'what to let go' is packaged in hand-screen printed arigato packs with screen printed inserts.

SAR002: chinatown bakeries - the door doesn't close ($9)

in the dead time between recording 'the bad year,' a to be released full band record, chinatown bakeries front man jon pitt recorded this 10 song record as a way to deal with the frustrations and painstaking qualities associated with recording a multi-tracked, multi-person album. in contrast, 'the door doesn't close' is a spontaneous, sparse affair, written and recorded by pitt alone. finished a few weeks prior to salty attic studios catching fire, and pitt's subsequent move to new mexico, 'the door doesn't close' serves as a swan song for both the bakeries' san francisco studio/rehearsal space and pitt's san francisco life itself. A cdr in an edition of 50, 'the door doesn't close' is packaged in hand-screen printed arigato packs with screen printed inserts.

SAR003: white cloud - CDR EP ($9)

from the initial swell of spaced-out noise that opens 'CDR EP,' one might think this was a work of art well into a band's career. amazingly, 'CDR EP' is white cloud's introductory release, and rather than hinting at the greatness that might be, it delivers a welcomed dose of fuzzy bliss. 7 tracks of shoegazey indie-pop, served disjointed and tight, this record proves that white cloud is the Bay Area's best kept secret.

A cdr in an edition of 100, 'CDR EP' is packaged in hand-screen printed white arigato packs with photocopied printed inserts.

SAR004: chinatown bakeries - the waiting ($9)

'the waiting' was recorded in jon pitt's home studio in santa fe, new mexico. recorded and performed entirely by pitt, 'the waiting' is an attempt to make a song cycle just this side of pop. inspired by the southwestern air and quiet, pitt set out to capture something of the rocky stillness that holds many in the high desert. and yes, lots of fun with electric guitars.

'the waiting' is a cdr in hand stamped sleeves, with a photocopied booklet.
